It was a pleasure to stay at Ka'anapali Beach without having to be in a hotel. This was a lovely condo in very good shape with a spectacular view looking north toward Molokai and Black Rock. The building is centrally located, with a less than 5 minute walk to Whaler Village, and Lahaina is a quick 10 minute drive. Being February, there were loads of whales to see, including newly born calves. The kitchen was reasonably well-equipped, and barbecue grills were available by the pool. Our only (very minor) complaint is that it would have been nice to have shampoo provided. We would recommend this place highly and would want to stay here the next time we come to Mau'i.

This is my third time staying at Kaanapali Alii and this was the best condo! Our family (including our four year old twins) loved being able to walk outside to enjoy the swimming pool, the ocean and beach or the nearby restaurants and shops. We grilled outside one night and enjoyed the sunset views. The condo is even better than the pictures show. It's very clean and comfortable in the perfect Maui location. The bedrooms are spaced apart so we could spread out and relax without being on top of each other. I hope to come back to stay at this place again very soon!

This condo at the Ali'i was fantastic and has been remodeled beautifully. My husband, 13 year old boy/ girls twins and I stayed here and there was plenty of room for us. The pull out couch in the master was at an odd angle but I didn't want my kids sleeping in there anyway so we didn't use it. The kids took turns using the queen guest bedroom and sleeping on the huge comfy couch in the living room. The location on Kaanapali Beach and walking distance to Whaler Village is A+. We had a blast! I would definitely stay here again.

Our stay at the condo was absolutely amazing. It's up on a high floor so the views are spectacular — the sunset especially; sitting on the patio watching it was something we made sure to do/appreciate every night.

The condo itself is set up nicely too. You can cook a nice dinner if that's your thing or you can head out to any of the nearby restaurants that are all around the area.

The management company, Maui Beachfront is their name I think, was great. We had a little internet issue when we first arrived. A call to them and it was resolved instantly. They also helped us get setup with some activities. We really felt like they went the extra mile with us. Big thanks to Kathy in their office for all the help.

I wouldn't hesitate to book this unit again when I come back to Maui and I would absolutely recommend it to anybody as well.

Loved the location of this unit. Super conveniently located on what is in my opinion the best stretch of Ka'anapali Beach. Easy to take a 5-7 minute walk to the right to Whaler's Village for lots of shopping or food, or to the left for Starbucks at the Marriott next door.

All of the staff here are super friendly and helpful. The unit itself is large so there's plenty of room to spread out and the bedrooms are situated where each can have privacy. The unit was also very clean upon arrival. From the lanai you have a great view of Black Rock, Moloka'i, and the nightly shows put on at the Westin next door. They typically end around 8:30pm or so, so don't worry that the noise will keep you up at night.

I will echo a previous review and say my only real criticism is that the stackable washer and dryer are small and outdated and needs to be replaced. Other than that everything is great and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

This place was perfect for our needs. The locations is fantastic - close walk to Whaler's Village and great restaurants, right on the beach, short drive to Lahaina, groceries, and anything else you might want. There was plenty of space for our three kids (7, 13, and 16) to spread out without getting on each other's nerves and the pool was great too. The view from the lanai is great and we got to see the Luau next door at the Westin several nights during our stay. We didn't hear noise from any other adjacent units and really felt like it was a home base for our travels.

This condo was perfect for a family...and the resort is beautiful. Pros: There is an extra sofa bed in the master bedroom, some condos do not have this. A definite plus for a family. Great view of both beach and mountains. Cons: the washing machine is a little small; the a/c in the living room area is fairly loud (keep this in mind if you're using the sofa bed). Pictures accurately reflect condo, even nicer in person. Would highly recommend!

Kaanapali is such an amazing place, with a beautiful beach, sunsets, snorkeling, surfing, scuba, shopping, restaurants, etc. right at your fingertips. The Alii is a first-class property, with great service, pools, grills and rentals (only wish they rented surfboards — had to walk a few hundred yards to rent them).

No restaurant/bar on site, but I thought that added to the laid back feel of the property. If you wants crowds, noise and room service, there are plenty of mega-hotels within a quarter mile. This condo met all our needs. It's 3-4x the size of a typical hotel room. The master suite is huge and kind of separated from the rest of the unit. Our daughter loved having her own suite (converted den), and our son loved taking the whole family room and the pull-out sofa bed. Fast, free wi-fi, tons of channels on the 2 big flat-screens (both with blu-ray players).

Bathrooms are great. Kitchen has every appliance, utensil and cookware you'll need. Safeway is 3-5 miles away — make sure you sign up for their loyalty card at the store to save a lot on what are otherwise really steep grocery prices. Views from the dining room and lanai are amazing (although there was minor renovation going on at the Westin next door — it's hard to let anything bother you here).

All in all, a truly great place for a relaxing family getaway. Maui isn't cheap, and the Alii is far from a budget hotel — but you really do get what you pay for. We're already planning our return and wouldn't hesitate to stay in this unit again.
