We are excited to announce March 2017 completion of the full remodel of our home at the Sands of Kahana! The remodel includes an all new kitchen, bathrooms, zoned air conditioning, furnishings, flooring, powered blinds, bedding, kitchenware – the Works! In April 2017 we added amenities such as new art, area rugs, new lanai furniture, decorations, and more (not yet shown in pictures). We have a superior 5-Star Oceanfront view and our remodel is equally as spectacular! Enjoy stunning 180-degree ocean views across the Maui Channel of the neighbor islands of Lanai and Molokai. Watch for sea turtles and migrating humpback whales from our two lanais, and sip a mai-tai as the sun sets over the deep blue water lapping just steps away from this lovely Kahana home.

Amazing view from the lanai off the master bedroom and living room, with beach, palm trees, stars and moonlight reflecting off the ocean out the guest bedroom window. Well equipped kitchen.
Very uncrowded beach, pool, and kid splash pool with attached hot tub. Roll-away bed worked out great for the 3-year old. Immaculate grounds with fantastic BBQ areas.
We will definitely return!
Every year I take my team to Hawaii for a well deserved vacation. We were all so happy and loved the place. So well taken care of and the view was amazing. Each room has it's own private area and lanai's. We will definitely be coming back. Mahalo
I have been to Maui many times, and this is by far the best place I have stayed! The kitchen was stocked with everything imaginable! The beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows. The views from both lanai’s were spectacular! The owners were super friendly and very easy to communicate with. This condo will definitely be the first place my family and I look when planning our next vacation to Maui! It was so hard to leave!
This condo is perfect and the view from the 4th floor lanai is unparalleled. We have stayed in many of the privately owned units at Sands of Kahana and this unit is by far the loveliest. The master bath/shower is HUGE with three shower heads and of course that incredible view of the ocean as you shower !! There is also a separate bath tub. The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen has all manner of pots, pans, baking sheets etc. The remodel has been done with such class and taste. The furnishings are beautiful (dining room table, chairs, dressers etc). The wood sliding doors in the master bedroom and the doors into the bath area are gorgeous. We loved the electric blinds...perfect as they afford darkness at night, but during the day there is no curtain to obstruct the stunning view of Molokai and the ocean. The lanai is perfect for watching whales....sunsets and rainbows.
Suggestions for dining include MaMa's Fish House in Paia, Sansei in Kapalua, Merriman's Bay Club (Kapalua), Pacific 'O (Lahaina) as well as O'Farm (upcountry ). For beaches we're very fond of Kapalua (snorkeling) and DT Fleming (boogie boarding). We had a fun sunset whale watch on the Hula Girl (good food too).
We love Maui and will be back next year ...to this unit !!
The management company also rates a very good review, as they have been excellent in providing clear communications, timely reminders etc.
Just got home from our 8th consecutive winter in Maui! We like to rent places in different resort areas to have varied experiences. This is a perfect condo for two couples or family! Very spacious, well appointed, directly above the ocean, amazing views the second you walk in the door. Whales right off the balcony. We were lucky enough to see a pod of spinner dolphins parade by.
We couldn't be happier with our decision to stay here! We spent 10 nights in the condo. We never spent time in the living room, as the action was on the lanai. We also never used the kitchen more than coffee in the morning. You can walk to a few restaurants i.e. Maui Brewing, Sushi, Dollie's Pizza. Walking distance to General Whaler for all your supplies.
The restaurant on property, Beach House, was very good! great happy hours, breakfast, etc. We had a jeep, but found it easier to uber or taxi to and from Old Lahaina and Kaanapali. You still need a car to travel around the island. Great stay, highly recommend!
This unit is truly amazing. We do a lot of research before renting and we tend to be very picky about the places we stay. Unit 243 at the Sands of Kahana exceeded our highest expectations. We actually concluded that this is the nicest VRBO that we have ever rented. The unit has been remodeled and the workmanship of the remodel is top notch. From the beautifully tiled floors to the very large showers with multiple shower heads to the modern fully-equipped kitchen, this unit would please the most discriminate visitor. The unit itself is huge by 2 bedroom condo standards. We had 4 adults and two children in the condo and we had more than enough space to be very comfortable.
The floor plan was a nice surprise to us, also. Both bedrooms are spacious and very private. The icing on the cake is that each bedroom has its own private balcony. Due to the location of the unit within the building, there is privacy at every window - no other units looks into 243. An elevator ride to the first floor puts you at the pool, the bar/restaurant, and right on the swimmable beach. The kitchen is outfitted with everything you could possibly need and the quality of the appliances and cookware is top of the line.
I could go on and on but suffice to say, I would never rent another unit other than this one whenever I return to Maui. In fact, if the owner ever sells this unit, I would be the first in line to buy it.
