Flexible Cancellation Policy

We understand it can be difficult to make travel plans without knowing what the future holds. We strongly advise that our guests consider purchasing travel insurance.

COVID-19 Pre-Travel Testing / Vaccination

The state of Hawaii started it’s pre-travel testing program in October 2020, requiring travelers to get a valid COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to their departure for Hawaii, and to show proof of a negative test result to avoid a 14-day quarantine.

If you are fully vaccinated, you may bypass the pre-testing requirement by uploading your vaccination record to the Aloha Safe Travels app instead of test results. Be sure to bring a hard copy of your vaccination record with you.

Purchasing the CSA/Generali travel insurance plan offered by Maui Beachfront Rentals with your reservation can protect your vacation investment. You can purchase the travel insurance up until your final balance due date. Benefits take effect at 12:01am the day following purchase of the coverage. Travel insurance is 6.95% of room and taxes. CSA/Generali offers a 10-day “free look” period. As long as you have not yet left for your trip or filed a claim, you can get a refund of travel insurance premium within 10 days from date of purchase. Otherwise, travel insurance premiums are not refundable.

If you, your travel companions, or family members test positive for COVID-19 prior to departing on your trip, you can be covered for Sickness under the terms and conditions of the policy.

Generali coverage for COVID-19 sickness can include:

  • Pre-paid Travel Arrangements Coverage is available for Insured travelers if they need to cancel or interrupt their plans if they get sick with COVID-19, or if a traveling companion or family member gets sick with COVID-19, as long as the requirements for sickness are met.
  • Medical Expenses and Evacuation Travelers who get sick on their trip and need to seek treatment or medical evacuation have coverage for medical expenses for one year, even after they return home – including copays, deductibles and out-of-network costs billed by primary health insurance.
  • Out-of-Pocket Costs Additional airfare to return home when a trip is interrupted, and other unexpected costs like overnight lodging and meals during delays, can be covered if a traveler or family member gets sick with the virus.

We strongly urge you to read the Description of Coverage/Insurance Policy. For additional information about the travel insurance plan and COVID-19, please visit Generali’s FAQ page.

For Travel Insurance Participants

Recognizing the impact of COVID-19 on your travel plans, CSA/Generali, our travel insurance provider, previously implemented a voucher program for customers who rebooked their trips rather than cancelling. With a travel insurance voucher, travelers can reuse their policies for their new trip. To determine if you are eligible and apply for a voucher, visit our provider’s Travel Insurance Policy Voucher page. Feel free to call them direct at (800) 554-9839. CSA/Generali will need your MBR reservation #, last name on reservation, and original dates booked. Once you reschedule your trip, you will need to call or use the CSA/Generali website to redeem your voucher and transfer your coverage to the new trip dates.
