Our family just spent 10 days in The Whaler, unit 1201 and I cannot say enough wonderful things about it. There were 7 adults – my husband and our 2 girls (24 and 20) stayed in the room with 2 queen beds, my sister-in-law and her husband stayed in the king bedroom and my 18 year old nephew had the study with the murphy bed – perfect and plenty spacious for all. The unit itself was fantastic – clean and not dated at all – gorgeous furnishings, cabinetry and artwork indicative of Hawaii, top of the line appliances and countertops.

There was nothing we didn’t have provided for day-to-day living – all cookware, kitchen cleaning items, washer/dryer, plenty of towels for several days without washing – all carefully and thoughtfully planned out. I was worried about the air conditioning given that the unit is flanked by windows on all sides but it was great – electric sun shades can be lowered during the day when you’re not there to cut down on the heat, so it was never an issue. The views were spectacular – we sat out every morning and evening and got much enjoyment from large the patio areas.

The Whaler location is perfect too – walking distance to the best shopping and plenty of restaurants and quickie eating places in one direction – access to parasailing and snorkeling trips in the other. Only had to use the concierge once but she was very helpful with my inquiry about how/where to get pineapples to ship home. The grounds of The Whaler were lovely and all staff we encountered were so friendly and eager to assist.

If you’re daunted by the price of the unit, don’t be – we did ALOT of research, and if you have a large family and try to find accommodations for all, it is right in line with what you would pay at any of the other beach front resorts we looked into – and a higher quality than most all. Would absolutely return to this wonderful place!
